What is the algorithm used to detect the problem of pulsation pressure in a screw pump?
This is a vibration problem, which can be mechanical and/or fluid, in nature. You can get some insight by measuring displacement for mechanical vibration; and pressure for fluid pulsation at accessible points inside the pump. For fluid vibration, the pressure vs time data (timeseries) can be decomposed using a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to get the transformed pressure vs frequency plot. There you can expect to see reasonable peaks at the native frequencies for the pump, which are multiples of the rotational speed (harmonics). There will be some peaks due to mechanical vibration of the motor and seal assemblies. But any other peaks, especially large ones are due to pulsation. For screw pumps, the rpm is low, which means that any high frequency peaks are an anomaly.
